Folk Game

Goal: Defeat Nightingale the Robber

Gameplay: Using mouse, move between cells, attack the enemy and set traps to keep him from moving.

The game was created as final project for first year. It had to be based on folklore, so, being fascinated by Slovak mythology, I've chosen the story of bogatyrs. Nightingale the Robber abilities allowed for interesting gameplay where the player is blown away to the last tile by his whistle. The biggest challenge was to implement these mechanics, especially because I was not allowed to use arrays at first as we haven't studied them yet. 
At the end I was not quite happy with the result as, even though the game was tested on paper prototype, it didn't end up quite fun as I expected. Although I did receive a lot of positive feedback from people who tested it, including teachers, the game needs a number of improvements to add more meaningful choices.
